IPFire won't access a local Government web site

Hi We've been using IPFire for many years for a community network. For some reason IPFire wont access a local government website http://www.gw.govt.nz/ The error screen shows: "The following error was encountered while trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.gw.govt.nz/ Connection to 192.88.190.6 fai...

Re: NIC hangs, then resets during speedtest, high throughput.

I have had the NIC reset problem happening for a long time and used the command: "ethtool -K green0 gso off gro off tso off" which fixed he problem. In the last month or 2 I have been getting the result: "Cannot get device udp-fragmentation-offload settings: Operation not supported" Could this be be...

Re: Speedtest upload causes red interface to reset

An update if you are reading this because you have problems with an Intel onboard NIC constantly resetting I tried 3 different computers, all around 5 or more years old with Core update 108 loaded, and all experienced frequent resetting of the interface using the onboard intel NIC. I tried another m...

Re: Speedtest upload causes red interface to reset

Thanks for the reply, I've tried this on two separate machines with two separate cables, so I'm not sure that's the issue, but will change them and see what happens.

Speedtest upload causes red interface to reset

Hi, I have had Ipfire working well for a long time on a dual core HP desktop with 4 GB RAM, I recently upgraded to Core 108 and noticed frequent reconnects on the red interface. The red interface is on the Intel 1Gb network port on the motherboard, blue and green are on PCI cards (one intel, one Rea...

Re: Rewrote Update Accelerator

Hi there. I have used "Net-Traffic" option in the "Status" tab of the IPFire GUI to monitor Red and Green network use. Over the last 7 months they are very similar (red data throughput is almost the same as green). That's why I was doubting that Update Accelerator had delivered 4...

Re: Rewrote Update Accelerator

Thanks for the quick reply Bernard. I'm still using the version of Update Accelerator (UA) bundled with IPfire, which I guess is the old version. With the cache efficiency currently at around 16, I expected to see a lot more traffic on the green interface than the red, given UA reports it has delive...

Re: Rewrote Update Accelerator

Hi - I hope you don't mind me asking a question about Update Accelerator here. I've been using update accelerator on a network with around 100 computers, over the last 7 months the statistics show 66Gb in the cache and 46Tb delivered from the cache. Over the same period the data going through the re...

Re: URL Filter Stopped Working

Thanks for the reply.

I think I found the error, a change made in the URL filter settings for time restraints for some users thru the GUI interface had partially remained in the squidGuard.conf file after the change had been removed.

Re: URL Filter Stopped Working

Hi,

I have just had this problem start. The URL filter has stopped working & the Squidguard log does have a number of warnings "Going into emergency mode".

Any advice on how to fix this would be appreciated.
