Re: Destination background color not showing

Greetings! I forgot to mention that the installation was from a new ISO downloaded 11 Jan 2019. ipFire 2.21 core 126. I reinstalled ipFire from an earlier ISO, downloaded 7 Jan 2018 ipFire 2.19 core 117 and it works fine. All ports ping and colors are normal in the firewall rules page. I have not ye...

Destination background color not showing

Greetings! I've been using ipFire for several years, and ipCop before. I have 2 ipFire machines running just fine. I just use mostly basic PF. I recently set up a 3rd machine to have ready as back up in case of a failure on a running machine. When I setup the firewall rules on the 3rd machine, I not...

Re: Red fails to get lease shows 169.254.91.7 no gateway

Greetings!

It appears that Google Fiber does not allow any "network box" other than their own.

If I want to use ipfire, I have to set it up behind their box...:-(

Oh well.

Have fun,
Paxton

Red fails to get lease shows 169.254.91.7 no gateway

Greetings! First, I apologize if this question is answered and I failed to find it. I have looked and searched. I have several ipFire boxes working fine. I have to set up an ipFire box and web server at another site and after testing the ipfire box here I powered it down and disconnected it in prepa...

Re: ipFire Installation failure

In the "for what it is worth" department.... I tried various things, earlier version of ipFire. Different jumpers on the disk. Deleting existing partitions with a partition manager...all to no avail. Finally, I reinstalled ipCop v. 2.1.8 on this old HP/Compaq DC5000 SFF and it works fine. So I will ...

Re: ipFire Installation failure

Greetings!
I removed all partitions on the disk, and the disk tested good with the mfg's disk utilities.

Still, ipFire refuses to install. I may try a different disk, but wondered if you have any other suggestions.
Thanks.

Have fun,
Paxton

Re: ipFire Installation failure

Thanks, Arne.
Sounds reasonable, will check it out.
HP does not seem to offer a BIOS upgrade, but I will get a clean disk and try again.

ipFire Installation failure

Greetings! I'm a long time ipCop user and decided to move to ipFire. I installed the ipFire on an old HP SFF machine with a Intel Pentium E5300 and it works great. After getting the PF rules setup to match the old ipCop machine, I put the ipFire machine in production and it works great. I decided to...
