Re: after core update 136, dhcpd stops running on red0

What's the story with this, is it a universal issue or only limited cases? I've held off upgrading one of my systems after I saw this thread. Should I wait for 137?

Re: Can't find documentation on IPSec Dead Peer Detection

I'm interested in knowing what these settings mean too. Is there a better place to ask this question to get an answer?

Re: route OpenVPN through ipSec-Tunnel

I recently came across this issue and for us, the solution was to set up the IPsec local subnet to 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0.

Re: Bandwidth limit for specific domain

Thank you for your information. Yes, the sites use Akamai.net Is it possible instead to apply QoS based on the IP of the streaming devices. Let's say a chromecast with ip x.x.x.x how is that done? Best regards Vibe If you can isolate the traffic to either a port or a L7 protocol, then you could use...

Both servers are in the hosts entry in the gui, they were there before too
I'm not talking about the Hosts entries, I'm talking about the DNS Forwarder page in IPFire gui. It's under Network.

Re: DNS over VPN

Try adding entries to both Windows servers in Network->DNS Forwarding page.

Re: IPsec VPN issues in update 134

I can help with the free space part. Your base install is old, back from when /boot didn't need more space. I went through the same thing. I had to do a clean install and backup restore. A modern clean install reserves more space for /boot. It's not as time-consuming as you think: -back up your conf...

Re: After clean install and restore, all graphs are broken

From what I understood, the Net-Stat graph issue I was having was due to moving from 32-bit to 64-bit. So I don't think this issue would arise if installing/restoring from the same platform.

Re: After clean install and restore, all graphs are broken

Found a fix for this. Add these lines to your list of commands:
/etc/init.d/vnstat stop
rm -f /var/log/vnstat/*

So in total:

/etc/init.d/collectd stop
/etc/init.d/vnstat stop
rm -fRv /var/log/rrd/*
rm -f /var/log/vnstat/*
/usr/sbin/sensors-detect
reboot

Re: After clean install and restore, all graphs are broken

From my notes that I got probably from this forum: If graphs are messed up, /etc/init.d/collectd stop rm -fRv /var/log/rrd/* /usr/sbin/sensors-detect reboot After reboot wait about 15 minutes and all the graphs will be working. :) Thanks, this got the sda and QoS graphs working, but still not the N...

Re: Cloudflare DNS over TLS/HTTPS

Yes, my PC and browser are behind ipfire and ipfire is using Cloudflare DNS in Network->Assign DNS-Server. I wonder if I set Cloudflare DNS in ipfire's setup via ssh if that would make any difference. Currently it is blank and pulling my ISP's DNS addresses. edit: no dice. Even if I set 1.1.1.1 and ...

Cloudflare DNS over TLS/HTTPS

Firefox now has a checkbox to enable DNS over HTTPS. I did some testing with Cloudflare set as my DNS servers in IPFire in Network->Assign DNS-Server. IPFire reports DNSSEC Validating. However, when I go to https://1.1.1.1/help to test DNS over HTTPS, it says I am not using either DOH or DOT. But if...

Re: Block active LAN user from internet

The firewall rule looks right. Make sure you're hitting Apply on the Firewall Rules page. What needs to happen is a network disconnect/reconnect. This can be scheduled under Network->Connection Scheduler. I'm not sure what other way to do it in a one-off way, but you could schedule it for 1 minute i...

Just a general question: does it make sense to enable Suricata on a home network?
Good point. I briefly tried suricata on my home system. It definitely slows my internet experience down, but my ipfire cpu is pretty weak, even though it's got 2 cores and 4 threads (Atom 330). I leave it off.
