Re: Specific Blue Zone IPs access to IPFire web interface

For the order of rules, top to bottom: https://wiki.ipfire.org/configuration/firewall/rules/processing . The first rule found is applied and the rest of the chain is ignored. So I would try to put first the ip of the machine that has to be able to access the WUI ( -j ACCEPT ) and then the other rul...

Specific Blue Zone IPs access to IPFire web interface

I want to grant access to the IPFire web interface only to a few devices from Blue but nothing works: neither in the web interface, nor in the /etc/sysconfig/firewall.local. Green network is this ==> 192.168.63.0 and blue network is this 192.168.72.0 My /etc/sysconfig/firewall.local looks like this:...

Long boot up time in grub

My Gigabyte J3455N-D3H (bios version F3 out-of-the-box which is the final version for this board) finally arrived and I installed and configured IPFire for it. I configured the BIOS pretty much like described here: https://forum.ipfire.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=20805&hilit=j3455N&start=15 My problem ...

Re: Intel Celeron J3455 compatibility

I'm really sorry to hear that. A failing CPU on a NAS is a much bigger problem than mine, that's for sure. If anything I have 3 years of warranty and I can return it if it comes to CPU failure. My issue on this CPU was, will it run IPFire smoothly. I'm asking this because I translated the German for...

Intel Celeron J3455 compatibility

I want to build an IpFire machine using a Gigabyte J3455N-D3H board with Intel Celeron J3455 Quad Core and 8gb Ram. Will I encounter any issues with IPFire 64bit build using this hardware ? I already ordered it but I still have some time to cancel if I find out I might run into issues. Please help !...

What's wrong with the wiki today ??

I'm trying to find info about configuring some addons, but the wiki doesn't load properly. I tried on two separate computers(mine and at a friend's house). I thought it was a problem on my end, but it isn't.

A question of compatibility with IPFire !!

Are Intel 815 chipset motherboards compatible with IPFire? My new home router is going to use an Intel D815EEA2/D815EPEA2 motherboard and I want to know if I might have issues with this, because I will be using IPFire on it. I read a post with someone having a problem with Intel motherboards when us...

Re: A few questions about IPFire configuration !! Please help !!

It is possible (you can change it in the apache vhost config /etc/httpd/conf/vhosts.d/ipfire-interface-ssl.conf) but it dosn't solv your problem. All ports has to be close from outside or you have a serios misconfiguration in your network. An attacker can easy find the new port with a scanner like ...

Re: A few questions about IPFire configuration !! Please help !!

There must be something wrong. 1. All ports (except one, the whois port) on the internet side are closed you not change the configuration of external access or portforwarding. 2. red0 gets no IP on pppoe connections. (ppp0 is used here) IF you not specially open the port (external access) or establ...

Re: A few questions about IPFire configuration !! Please help !!

Hi ummeegge, and thank you for the prompt response. I dissagree on the answer at question 1. I already installed ipfire, red0 is configured for a pppoe connection. When IPFire connects to the internet, red0 obtains an ip like 79.112.xxx.xxx. I tried accessing my IPFire WUI with m from a computer out...

A few questions about IPFire configuration !! Please help !!

1. How can I restrict access to the web interface from red0, or how do I change the login port from 444 to a much higher port ? I would want to make it as difficult as possible to access the web interface from outside my network !! 2. Is IPFire upgradeable with every new version or do I have to inst...
