Re: Core 134 update

After the update i had to wait about 20-30 min just to get an IP adress. Talked to my ISP and they explain was that it could take som time to get a new ip cause of the old hardware on the fiber net.
IPfire will try to use the old ip on the red interface, but i got a new adress instead.

I wondering what should be the best solution for a larger network. 50-150 computers.
Slower CPU with multible cores or a faster CPU with less cores?

If the question has been answerd please send me a link. I could not find anything about it?

Re: cant pay with mastercard/visa with ipfire

I can pay using my CC and Paypal and much more runnin IPFire 1.23, but I guess it depends on the provider or the website that is handling the payments. Do you have, by any chance, ClamAV activated? I've already whitelisted some websites that ClamAV filters and makes them unusable. Michael I can pay...

Re: What can i expect from this hardware?

You can buy a decent rig for a few hundred dollars. Ideally, you will want a system with a more recent processor that has AES if you are doing any type of encryption (VPN, etc). I'm not sure how the core count factors in here yet, but the more services you run, the more threads are required (not 1:...

Re: What can i expect from this hardware?

Just out of curiosity: is it for an office network? A neighborhood network? A school? A lab with 100 raspberry pi? I am just trying to understand how a network for 100 or more devices cannot afford a decent machine. Hi. No. Its not for a office network. I am member in a LAN party association and so...
