Re: Conectivity loss on green interface
When observing "random" problems, my hottest favorite would be to search for faulty hardware, but not for issues with software configuration or software bugs. Years ago I had a case, where I observed "random" faults of my Internet uplink. Ultimately I found out, that the DSL modem often (but not alw...

Re: Conectivity loss on green interface
Did you exclude a hardware issue of your Green NIC? Or a faulty cable between your switch and your Green NIC? If yes, how?

Re: DDOS attacks
To add one more thought... IPFire is able to manage a traffic throughput of >> 100 MBit/s. These packets are forwarded to e.g. the Green interface. Consequently dropping a ttaffic of ~10 MBit/s should not cause too much CPU load on a reasonably cheap machine. Logging all this unwanted traffic may ca...

Re: DDOS attacks
The job of an appliance like ipfire is to filter those unwanted traffic and not to forward this to the LAN. The logs document, that this job is done. In other words: your logs demonstrate that IPFire is doing its job. The packets arriving between 07:06:12 and 07:08:18 are dropped --> job done 8) Yo...

Ja. Die Fehlermeldung ist ja nicht falsch, aber leider hilft sie nicht, die Ursache abzustellen...

Re: Why so many open ports ?
I checked my installations using an external nmap based scanner, and I could not find any open ports on the Red interface.

Meine Schri...

Re: Installation
Yes my modem does not provide any type of routing. Actually that means that your local network is directly connected to the external network of your fiber optical access. If that network is not completely trustworthy (like the Internet), this is simply dangerous. I just want to integrate Ipfire int...

Re: Installation
Hello reeges.silva, the more I am asking, the more I am struggling. A part of that is due to the fact, that I ask specific questions like "What the heck is "FORTNET": does it mean "firewall"?", but I can't figure out, whether your answer above means "Yes!" or "No!". I interprete that "DEDICATED INTE...

Re: Installation
Hi, I am still struggling... Partially this is caused by the fact, that I don't understand your Spanish (?) descriptions in the diagram. What the heck is "FORTNET": does it mean "firewall"? And what is "IINK DE INTERNET DEDICADO": your Internet uplink, a router? :-\ I put my Ipfire with 192.168.3.35...

Re: Installation
Welcome reeges.silva! For me it is hard to come up with a good recommendation, because I have neither understood your network setup completely, nor do I have a good understanding, what you are going to accomplish... IPFire is intended as a firewall / router, which controls the incoming and outgoing ...

Wenn Du im WebGUI unter Protokolle / Systemprotokolldateien / OpenVPN stöberst, wirst Du zumindest einige Infos finden. Fehlt Dir da was?

Ich hatte da in der Vergangenheit nix angepaßt (ich nutze normalerweise kein ISO-Backup). Bei mir funktioniert das ISO-Backup aber: eine gut 236 MByte-Datei wird erstellt.
