Re: Finding bottleneck...

Appreciate the reply. After looking around further, there seems to be a lot of people (mostly newbies like myself) dealing with this. I assume it may come down to a passive issue or one of the "cards" just not being fully supported. Let's say I take the easy route and just replace the card and deac...

Re: Install on Vmware Help

Did you ever get this working? I just spun up a test VM yesterday to install Core 120 and got the exact same error, but I knew why...I set up a fake static IP address for the Red interface since my production IPfire system was using DHCP on red and I didn't want there to be any conflicts at boot up.

Re: WUI Login ?

Why do you need to do this? Is it because you just don't want to see the warning message about connecting to an insecure web site? Any internal device that you connect to that uses a self-signed certificate is going to display this message.

Re: possible bug in Core 120 64-bit

Ah, thanks guys!! I didn't realize I'd need to delete some log files and restart services for this to work again. That did the trick for me. Thanks again!

Re: possible bug in Core 120 64-bit

Update: I just tested this theory. Restoring from a backup definitely breaks it. I just created a new test VM and just installed the 64-bit core 120 iso image. On a fresh install, all the graphs work just fine. However, as soon as I restore from my ipfire backup config, it breaks ALL the graphs. Tha...

Re: possible bug in Core 120 64-bit

I'm wondering if the last restore is what caused the issue. I was restoring from a backup on a 32-bit build. I'm wondering if it carried over some cgi config that broke something? If I do a backup now and then a restore, I might be introducing the same problem. I don't have the time to test that rig...

Re: possible bug in Core 120 64-bit

I found that if I take that URL and plug it into my browser (with the full IP address), I get this error:

"The requested URL /cgi-bin/system-cgi was not found on this server."
Maybe something didn't go right during the install? Odd that everything works EXCEPT for these graphs.

Re: possible bug in Core 120 64-bit

Hm...any idea why none of mine work then? The screenshot above was taken using the Safari browser. If I go to the same page in firefox, I see an error where the charts would be that says: The image "https://192.168.x.x:444/cgi-bin/system-cgi?cpu?day" cannot be displayed because it contains errors. I...

Re: Using DNS Update on IPFIRE

I've read through your posts twice and I'm still not sure what you are asking for. If you are asking if Dynamic DNS works (Services > Dynamic DNS), then, yes it works just fine. I use it all the time. That is really just to resolve your external IP to the red interface of IPfire though; I don't thin...

Re: What is included in a backup

On a side note, I just took a backup on my 32-bit build of IPfire (core 120) and I just recently installed the 64-bit version and restored from the backup (32-bit) and it loaded everything that I needed from hostname, to DHCP settings, to port forwarding rules, DynDNS settings, ssh settings, externa...

FIXED: possible bug in Core 120 64-bit

Didn't there used to be a sub category to report bugs in the old forum? Anyway, I wanted to report a possible bug in the 64-bit version of Core 120. I just installed it a couple days ago and everything works fine except for the graphs under the Status tab. They are all blank. Is this expected behavi...

Re: IP Installation failure

Yeah, you don't really want to be running IPfire in this type of set up. If you really want to virtualize it, you could do like I do and build an ESXi host and then virtualize IPfire on that host. This is a type 1 hypervisor, which will work much better than the type 2 that you are trying to impleme...

Re: IPFire, set it and forget it

I agree with you. I switched over to IPfire about 6 years ago. Before that, I was using Smoothwall. While Smoothwall worked ok, it was a real pain to add in all the features that come installed with IPfire. Plus, each time you upgraded Smoothwall, it broke the add-ons you installed (manually through...

Re: internet slowness using IPfire

Try ruling out the virtual machine being the issue (maybe install IPFire temporarily on a real machine on an extra hard drive or USB stick). Do not think 32-bit IPFire in itself is the cause. IPfire is not the problem anymore since I turned off QoS. My wireless AC clients are pulling down over 200 ...

Re: internet slowness using IPfire

Oh, ok. Mine is virtualized, so I’ll basically be swapping one VM for another.
