Cant get Download Throttle to work

Post by ramses2010 » October 16th, 2016, 3:27 am

Hello.

I have few computers going through the firewall, when all are downloading simulteanously it kills my internet/disconnects everyone. I think the firewall just stops working.

I tried the download throttle, but i don't think it works. I can still see the transfer rate increase to over 90mbs/sec. Even at the lowest kbps setting. Anyway to fix this?

Also is there a way to see who is using high bandwith in real time? at least point me to an ip?

Thank You,
Francis

The way I view realtime traffic to spot high bandwidth users is with iftop. You need to install it via pakfire. Then ssh into ipfire and run:

Code: Select all

iftop -i green0
Regarding the other question, have you experimented with QoS yet?
