rngd crashes

I'm having a problem with the random number daemon on my IPFire box crashing. This seems to happen some time after a restart. An example of the syslog messages is:

16:05:01 kernel: rngd[1997]: segfault at 805e000 ip 0804b1be sp b9c9d64c error 6 in rngd[8048000+ 5000]
16:05:01 kernel: grsec: Segmentation fault occurred at 0805e000 in /usr/sbin/rngd[rngd:1997] uid/ euid:0/0 gid/egid:0/0, parent /sbin/init[init:1] uid/euid:0/0 gid/egid:0/0
16:05:01 kernel: grsec: denied resource overstep by requesting 4096 for RLIMIT_CORE against limit 0 for /usr/sbin/rngd[rngd:1997] uid/euid:0/0 gid/egid:0/0, parent /sbin/init[in it:1] uid/euid:0/0 gid/egid:0/0

it seems to happen just over two hours after restart. The WUI still shops the daemon as running.

The computer is a Lightning Wire Labs Duo box running core update 111.

Any suggestions?
