unbound not resolving alias domain

Post by Alorotom » December 5th, 2018, 11:09 am

Hello all,

recently I figured out a problem with unbound resolving an alias domain.

Result from network without IPFire:

Code: Select all

C:\>nslookup eaton.de
Server:  fritz.box
Address:  fd00::e228:6dff:xxxx:xxxx

Nicht autorisierende Antwort:
Name:    www.eaton.com
Address:  195.33.149.30
Aliases:  eaton.de
Result from network behind IPFire:

Code: Select all

C:\>nslookup eaton.de
Server:  RADONIO.elements.local
Address:  192.168.1.1

*** eaton.de wurde von RADONIO.elements.local nicht gefunden: Server failed.

C:\>nslookup heise.de
Server:  RADONIO.elements.local
Address:  192.168.1.1

Nicht autorisierende Antwort:
Name:    heise.de
Addresses:  2a02:2e0:3fe:1001:302::
          193.99.144.80

C:\>nslookup powerquality.eaton.com
Server:  RADONIO.elements.local
Address:  192.168.1.1

Nicht autorisierende Antwort:
Name:    powerquality.eaton.com
Address:  40.143.173.102
The hole Website powerquality.eaton.com is not working, when trying this from behind IPFire. Almost everything ends up with 'server not found'.

Any idea, how to solve this? Or the reason for this behavior?

up

Problem still persists. eaton.de not reachable from behind IPFire.

Since there are more cases like this, where some users here in this forum report from time to time of not reachable websites, I'd be happy to see a little more response. Otherwise it renders mystic, why or why not a website will show up, when using an IPFire.

E.g. someone else, who can or can not confirm problems with http://powerquality.eaton.com/countries.asp?cx=-999 when selecting "Germany" and receiving
seite-nicht-gefunden.png
whilst this is working normal, when requested from in front of IPFire?
