2 VM Guest IPFire in same Centos 7.5 Host cannot ping

Post by osmaniaindo » December 27th, 2018, 9:49 am

Hi

I have installed a VM (IPFIre1) with GROB (green, red, orange, blue) interfaces as a guest in a Centos 7.5 host. all network cards using, macvtap (in KVM/QEMU), private and virtuo drivers. Everything working normal. all clients behind green and orange can ping the respective gateway and connect to internets normally.
Then in the same host I installed another 1 VM with same GROB configuration (IPFire2) . also all VM network cards using, macvtap (in KVM/QEMU), private and virtuo drivers.

After all running, From IPFire1 cannot ping the orange interface of IPFire2 even though they shared the macvtap.
All Green share Macvtap 1
All Red share Macvtap 2.
All Orange share Macvtap 3 .
All Blue share Macvtap 4.
I tried both update code 124 and 125 but result all same.

Even the cannot ping each other, all interfaces can ping all hosts behind them. I means IPFire1 can ping the same VM that also behind IPfire2.

when check via ARP , arp -a show complete mac address of all Nodes behind them but show <incomplete> for IP fires interfaces. A new created VM behind orange also cannot ping the orange interface and cannot go to internet.

anybody has the same experience before?

Thanks
Manoe
