Cannot de-select IDS rules

I have a couple ICMP rules causing false positives on my network. Well, for some reason, I cannot seem to de-activate these rules. I have unchecked them and yet I still get IDS alerts that these rules were activated. I'm unchecking the rules and then hitting the update button. Is there another step I need to do?
