gaming access block

Post by andy120 » June 10th, 2019, 5:50 am

Hi
My daughter is trying to place an online game via a server fairly local. I cannot get it to load, it just trys to initialise/update then crashes. When loading without the firewall, it loads ok. I have been thru the logs looking for something repeating that gets killed off, but cannot find one. There is a bunch of stuff (warnings for lots when checking the ip's in firefox) not using consistant ip's. How do I find whats blocking it? The provider is no help. The launcher has been updated.

Perhaps the Game has coded in DNS servers addresses and your firewall DNS block rules are are stopping it. Try disabling your DNS blocks.

Also from your drawing the ipfire Nic-1 DNS info seems odd, shows it pointing to itself 192.168.2.1, also has DNS set to auto? What does Ipfire's gui show for DNS on System>Home page? I like to set Ipfire manually to use non ISP DNS servers here : Network>Assign DNS server.
