Hi everybody,

I noticed that when I executed the ifconfig command, the "overruns" field for "RX packets" contained values for the Green0, Blue0 and Orange0 interfaces.

See below "ifconfig" command result:

1) Can I solve these problems by making settings or is it a limitation of the Ethernet interface ?

2) Also, on Red0 interface (Fiber card), there is error on "fifo" field when execute "ip -s -s link show" command but not with "ifconfig" command (Rx overruns field) ...strange isn'it ?

Many thanks

This may happen if the system bus of the network cards is too slow to handle all traffic.
Normal tcp/ip should lower the speed after some lost packets.

are there pci nics in the system?

Hi Arne.F,

My system is the one I bought on 27/07/2016 on the Ipfire shop... Michael Tremer was in charge of the sale (Offer N° 2016/10211/1).
Here is the detail of the device:

Code: Select all

IPFire Appliance Professional II
Based on Intel(R) i3 technology, 8GB RAM, 60GB SSD,rack-mount.
4x Gigabit Ethernet adapters boosting the performance of your network.
IPFire Appliance - 1G SFP+ Upgrade
PCIe Extension Card with one SFP+ port with 1G
Many thanks
