command failed: Input/output error (-5)
[root@ipfire bin]# ip link show blue0

[root@ipfire bin]#iwconfig

Yet all red and wont configure in the GUI
Any ideas? i Know that this card worked great in a Ubuntu laptop for several years.

The iwlwifi driver has a bug that crash it at channel scan on grsecurity patched kernels so such card will not work in client mode.
If the firmware is also block the ap/master mode this card is not useable in IPFire.
