Ist es möglich nen WLAN Access Point im 5 Ghz Band zu starten? Wenn ja wie?

Ja hatte ich auch schon über Google gefunden, allerdings ist der Link zum compat-wireless nicht mehr richtig.
Oder ist das mittlerweile schon standardmäßig im IPFire drin?
Und was genau soll ich bei regdomain für einen Wert eintragen damit es funktioniert?

Ja seit Core 47 http://forum.ipfire.org/http://forum.ipfire.org//viewtopic.php?p=31526#p31526 . Schau dir den Thread mal genauer an vielleicht findet sich da was du an Info´s brauchst.

Hab jetzt die regdomain korrekt gesetzt und nach nem Neustart versucht den AP im 5Ghz Band zu starten, leider ohne Erfolg.
Ich habe verschiedene Kanäle und a sowie n getestet. Leider will es einfach nicht funktionieren.
Hat jemand noch eine Idee?

bei mir läuft 5ghz mittlerweile ganz gut. Schneller als 2.4 Ghz, allerdings ist die Reichweite relative bescheiden. Wenn du mehr als eine Wand überbrücken willst solltest du bei 2.4 Ghz bleiben!
Wie sieht denn deine hostapd.conf aus? und was gibt ein "iw list"?

Hast du dein Land eingestellt?

/etc/modprobe.d/cfg80211

Standard steht da EU und da ist 5Ghz gesperrt.

Das ist eigentlich richtig so aber bei dir ist das gesamte 5Ghz Band immernoch gesperrt.
