Core 119 problems

Post by H&M » March 24th, 2018, 7:46 pm

Hi,

Several problems to report to a fresh install for core 119 (CD image downloaded today)

HTOP, NANO (perhaps more apps

Code: Select all

# htop
htop: error while loading shared libraries: libtinfo.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

nano
nano: error while loading shared libraries: libtinfo.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

DBUS (boot messages)

Code: Select all

Starting the D-Bus Messagebus Daemon...
Unknown username "avahi" in message bus configuration file
Unknown group "netdev" in message bus configuration file [ OK ]
SSHD (boot message)

Code: Select all

Starting SSH Server...
/etc/ssh/sshd_config line 111: Deprecated option UsePrivilegeSeparation[ OK ]

Blue initialization:

Code: Select all

ath10k_pci 0000:04:00.0: Direct firmware load failed with error -2
ath10k_pci 0000:04:00.0: Falling back to user helper
Pakfire (list)
I have an older Core110 that was upgraded to core 119: this old machine lists for pakfire list: 171 packages total.
The fresh installed one lists only 169 packages total.

Anybody else with these messages?

Update: on GIT, lfs/ncurses contains the removal of libtinfo.so.5.9: rm -vf $(PREFIX)/lib/libtinfo.*

Does somebody know why?

see here
https://git.ipfire.org/?p=ipfire-2.x.gi ... =libtinfo
Thank you,
H&M

Hi,

Some weird problems, it seems:

htop: error while loading shared libraries: libtinfo.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I did a clean build of Core 119 some days ago: indeed, this lib isn't included.
I tested this on my running Core 119: 'htop 2.1.0' and 'nano 2.9.4' are running fine with or without these libs.

You did a clean install, how did this line get there? I can't find it in a new built Core 119.
H&M wrote:...on GIT, 'lfs/ncurses contains the removal of libtinfo.so.5.9: rm -vf $(PREFIX)/lib/libtinfo.*
Yes, this lib is removed in 'lfs/ncurses-compat'.

Sorry, I can't explain what happened, but where did you get the Core 119 ISO from?

HTH,
Matthias

Hi,
On my core 119 fresh install those 2 refuse to start because libtinfo is missing

Yes, a clean install using the CD image for x86_64 written to an USB (win32image - dump ISO to USB and boot it).
After booting I restored an existing backup - I replaced an older hardware with a newer one - I did a backup on core 119 old hardware and restored it on the new box after a fresh core119 install

I got the ISO from download.ipfire.org - I even checked the hash (which I don't do very often :D)

Weird indeed...

Here is the line 111 from /etc/ssh/sshd_config

Code: Select all

UsePrivilegeSeparation sandbox # Default for new installations.
If /etc/ssh/sshd_config is included in backup/restore then this line comes from another core 119 ...

I commented this line to get rid of the boot message.

On my host I fixed that by creating soft link as root:

Code: Select all

ln -s /usr/lib/libncursesw.so.6.0 /usr/lib/libtinfo.so.5
Thank you!

This problem except the firmware and dbus issue are known and already fixed in testing tree.

https://git.ipfire.org/?p=ipfire-2.x.gi ... 0771f70398

The ath10k firmware is not included in IPFire. You need to get this from atheros...

We will add the support with the next kernel update... (IPFire 2.21....)

Which addon need dbus? I remember only the already removed avahi and obsolete bluetooth modem support...
Arne

Support the project on the IPFire whishlist!

PS: I will not answer support questions via email and ignore IPFire related messages on my non IPFire.org mail addresses.

I have the same issue. I see the fix for htop and nano. However I have notice I can not run transmission. I have not tried others. I have used 32 and 64 bit. on flash image and HDD install.

[root@ipfire ~]# transmission-show
transmission-show: error while loading shared libraries: libevent-2.0.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

[root@ipfire ~]# nano
nano: error while loading shared libraries: libtinfo.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

also on core 120: [root@ipfire ~]# nano
nano: error while loading shared libraries: libtinfo.so.5: cannot open shared ob ject file: No such file or directory

EDIT: removed incorrect info about problem package.
