USB key required on boot ?

Post by jean_bruder » July 23rd, 2019, 3:21 pm

Dear IPFire Team,

Once installed and working fine, my IPFire box need that the installation key stay plugged-in, and if not display an error on boot and open the recovery mode console ?! Why do I need to have the installation USB key plugged now ? Is that the normal boot process ?

Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Jean

Did you install from or to the USB stick?

It's an installer bug, grub.conf will not written with the uuid of the fs so if the usb key was detected prior the hdd you get a boot problem. After a core update grub.conf will regenerated and it should work. It is also fixed in the source but im not sure if it will shipped with core135 or 136...
