OpenVPN multiple instances or multiple ports

Post by joylessdave » May 8th, 2019, 7:43 pm

hi

switched to ipfire about 4 months ago as IPCOP appears to be dead (this is a home setup

ive finally set up Open VPN and have it working on port 1194 and can get it to work on 443. is there a way to get it to either listen on both ports or to run multiple instances on openvpn one on 443 and the other on 1194

the reason i ask is one of the wifi networks i connect to fairly regularly has blocked 1194 but i would prefer my family to generally use 1194.
The only time my wife is likely to use it is to access storage from her parents so port issues are unlikely.

having had a google it appears pfsense supports this just wondered if anyone had tried it on IPFire before i go an break it.

Hello,
simple solution!
(does NOT work with GUI)
create a second server.conf [with a different name, named as you like it ] and you will get a second instance (listening on your second port).
All to be done with CLI.
you can run
port 1194 udp
port 1194 tcp
port 443 udp
= 3 instances ... and anymore if you like it.
it needs only memory (RAM).
(it is similar to n-2-n setup )
