DD-WRT Router behind IPfire

Hello,

I entered this forum, because I couldn't find answer online.
I have recently installed an IPfire like this:
Fritzbox from ISP (red interface) -> IPfire --> Netgear DD-WRT Router (green interface) --> PC.
I took I while to make this work. But now I have different problem: I can't access the web interface of the Netgear Router. Removing the IPfire and plug only the ethernet of the PC into the AP didn't work. I couldn't find an IP adress.

DHCP is done by the IPfire and the Netgear acts as an AP (no DHCP).

Zenmap showed me as adress the IP from teh green interface, but the MAC is declared as Netgear.

Is there a way to access the web interface of the Netgear router?

Hi there,

your network setup is not entirely clear to me. Does DD-WRT act as a router, or do you just use the Wifi AP functionality?

While doing the initial configuration (e.g. switching off DHCP), you need to assign a fixed IP address to the DD-WRT NIC. This IP address should match to the Green network mask of your IPFire. Consequently the AP within the LAN NIC (not the WAN NIC!) of your Netgear hardware with DD-WRT should be attached to the Green IPFire interface.

I attached a file with the layout of my network.

So far the system seems to work because I could access the Internet via the PC.

The Ipfire is no listed as an exposed host.
The local IP adresse of the DD-WRT is the IP of the green interface. The router acts as an AP without DHCP
The red Interface is the IP given by thr Fritzbox.

My Problem ist that I can't open the web interface of the router. It seems to have no IP. So I can't change the Settings for the Wlan....

Is this setup even possible? And how? Should I keep the red like this and do it in the same way on the green side? Let the DD Wrt router do DHCP and give a fix IP to the green interface.

The local IP adresse of the DD-WRT is the IP of the green interface.

Are you saying that the IP address of DD-WRT is identical to that of the Green NIC of the IPFire? If yes, you are in trouble. Never ever use identical IP addresses in the same segment. I would recommend to share the chosen IP adresses and network mask to make things clearer.

Please clarify, whether DD-WRT routes the packets of your PC (Laptop, phone, ...) towards IPFire (using both the WAN as well as the LAN interface of your DD-WRT; using separate IP address ranges for WAN and LAN segment), or whether the DD-WRT is acting as a switch (using just the LAN interface of your DD-WRT; using just the Green IP address range of your IPFire).

Also das Layout ist hoffentlich soweit verständlicher. Basis dieses Aufbaus ist dieser Artikel:

Allerdings nur red + green.
Letzt hatte ich is hinbekommen, dass der PC (angeschlossen an Router) eine Verbindung ins Internet hatte. Leider konnte ich unter dieser Einstellung nicht mehr die Verbindung zur Weboberfläche des Routers herstellen, weil die IP Adresse von Ipfire green und des Routers identisch waren. Die IP Adresse hat mich somit immer wieder zur Firewall Gui geführt, aber nicht zum Router.
In dieser Konfiguration wurde DHCP von der Firewall ausgeführt und der Router war als Forwarder eingestellt.

Ich bin noch Neuling in dem Thema.

Das System hab neu aufgesetzt und es läuft soweit, dass die Endgeräte ins Internet kommen.
Die IP sind jetzt so verteilt:
FB 192.168.1.1
IPfire mit statischer IP 192.168.1.23 <- red Interface
IPfire green 172.16.0.1 mit aktiviertem DHCP
DD-WRT 10.1.1.1

Wie komme ich jetzt aber auf den Router? Muss dieser im selben Netz sein wie das green Interface?

Habs geschafft.
Hab den DD-WRT in das gleiche Netz wie das green Interface, aber außerhalb der DHCP range.
Jetzt kann ich auf alles zugreifen.
